built in 1913 as a hotel named Hotel Stowell, it is most commonly recognized
as the El Dorado Hotel where Charlie Chaplin once lived. A 12-story turn-of-the
century terracotta and concrete building with distinguishing exterior facade
and an impressive lobby, the El Dorado is being transformed into 65 residential

Original design elements have been carefully preserved
